Tennessee Book Burning Event
On February 2nd, Greg Locke, a pastor of the Global Vision Bible Church, held a book burning event in Tennessee where they burnt copies of “Harry Potter” and “Twilight”, besides any other occult items. Locke held these books “were masonic and occult influences in society.”
We at the Joseph Street Digest acknowledge Pastor Locke’s religious right to burn items which he deems “evil”, so long as he obeyed local permits and laws. In no way do we support his actions. But it reminds us of Ray Bradbury’s book Fahrenheit 451, which the dominant theme was book burning.
