New Book about the COVID-19 Pandemic
On March 27, 2022, WTTW’s Black Voices talked with the author of “The Emergency: A Year of Healing and Heartbreak in a Chicago ER”, a new book out about the COVID-19 pandemic and the medical challenges hospital staff faced in the ER.
Discussed by the show was “the health inequities illuminated by the pandemic, as the COVID Tracking Project points to a death rate 1.4 times higher for Black people than White people.”
